Yacht charters have resumed in the Mediterranean, but that’s not the only place you can venture this year for your dream sailing holiday! The main Caribbean sailing destinations and international flights are also resuming now . In light of this, we thought we’d share our top islands to discover on a Caribbean yacht charter. These islands offer incredible sailing areas, so you can easily plan an exciting and fun route for you and your crew.

The Caribbean is full of history, coral reefs for snorkelling, shore hikes, beaches perfect for leisurely walks and swimming and exciting cuisine, it’s perfect for a yacht charter.

For food lovers, we have listed some restaurants already open to eat in the Caribbean after recent global disruptions. Many restaurants are ready to welcome you and are waiting to serve you during your holiday. From casual beach bar tacos to gourmet restaurants, we’ve made a list of open restaurants to improve your sailing holiday in the Caribbean.*

The Bahamas

Where to eat in the Bahamas

  • Graycliff , Nassau – This legendary restaurant has a breathtaking wine cellar and offers fine dining. Call ahead for opening hours or view their Instagram
  • Palm Cay Club House , Nassau – White sand beach and 25m swimming pool make it an ideal setting for a bite to eat and a refresh
  •  Latitudes Restaurant , Nassau Harbor Club – Come here for a dinner by the water: sushi, ramen, grilled meats and pizza on the menu . Check their Instagram account for opening hours
  • Staniel Cay Yacht ClubThere is plenty of space to eat outside while admiring the skyline with a Goombay Smash cocktail in hand. Picnic boxes are available. You can taste lobster and seafood, as well as sandwiches and burgers
  • Highbourne Cay Marina – The Xuma Restaurant offers a waterfront view ideal for watching the sunsets, as well as a tasty menu with seafood, including lobster tails and Mahi Mahi. Reservation recommended for dinner.

Antigua

With a beach for every day of the year, you won’t have a hard time finding a secluded spot in Antigua to relax without the crowds. Antigua is one of the favorite destinations of the Dream Yacht Charter team . If you like history, you can follow in Nelson’s footsteps and find out more about the battles that took place. Or you can sail to Barbuda, where you will see some of the most beautiful sandy beaches in the world.

Martinique

Martinique offers a lot for a relaxing holiday; where you can sail around the island and visit some of its many things to see and do. Discover the white sandy beaches to the south and the black volcanic sand to the north. Prepare your snorkel to explore the incredible coral reefs, like at Anse d’Arlet, or visit the waterfalls of the Gorges de la Falaise. Finish with retail therapy in Fort-de-France.

  • Zoo Rock Café , Marina du Gosier, Le Gosier – Near our base it is a real hub in the sailing community, where sailors and locals meet. Enjoy the barbecue specialities in the garden, dance on the track or relax with a cold drink
  • Le Zagaya , Saint François – Known for very good fresh food with seafood coming directly from fishing boats.

US Virgin Islands

You can navigate freely from our base at Compass Point Marina to St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix and Water Island in the US Virgin Islands. St. John has one of the most beautiful shores in the Caribbean and you will be spoiled for choice in your itinerary.

  • Heidi’s Honeymoon Grill , Water Island – Here you will find pulled pork sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs and tacos. Open from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. View their Facebook page for more information
  • Dinghy’s Beach Bar & Grill , Water Island – Sip a cold drink in a hammock or try the shrimp wrap or jerk chicken (Jamaican spicy chicken). Check their Facebook page for opening hours.
  • Pizza Pi , Great St. James – Enjoy delicious pizza at this floating New York restaurant. Opening hours vary, check their Instagram for more information.

St. Martin

A yacht charter in Saint-Martin will offer you one of the best snorkelling dives when sailing in the Caribbean and the chance to visit Tintamarre, Pinel islet and numerous moorings only accessible by boat (our base can advise you on the best places). Don’t miss the local beaches before setting sail for the billionaire island of St Barts – there is so much to see in this cruising area.
