The Bahamas is a large archipelago that’s just a 90-minute flight from the coast of Florida. Sail the Bahamas to follow the path of ancient pirates, visiting the low-lying Abaco and Exuma island chains with their sparkling sands and shallow, azure water.
Abaco has 120 miles of cays and islands, showcasing some of the finest beaches, sheltered anchorages, coves and British colonial architecture. Head to the 365 cays of the Exumas during your Bahamas charter and stroll the famous sandbar, explore endless white beaches or sail a magnificent marine park.
If you want to get closer to nature, you can see iguanas, sharks, dolphins, rays and tropical fish, as well as green parrots. You can even meet the famous swimming pigs of the bahamas.

Abaco
From our base in Marsh Harbour, explore the long stretch of sand at Great Guana Cay, Treasure Cay’s world-renowned beach, Man-O-War Cay’s boat building heritage, the lighthouse and Tahiti Beach at Elbow Cay, the Pelican Cays Sea Park and Green Turtle Cay’s sculpture garden.
Exumas
Sail from our base in Nassau and discover the iguanas at Allen Cays, the wonder of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, Horseshoe Bay’s Octopus Garden, the nurse sharks at Compass Cay, Thunderball Grotto on Staniel Cay, the plane wreck at Norman’s Cay or swim with the pigs on Big Major Cay.
Nassau
There are so many things to do in Nassau. During your Bahamas sailing vacation, take time out to visit the straw market for souvenirs, snorkel in the coral reefs and climb the 66 steps of Fort Fincastle.
When is the best time to visit the Bahamas?
The best time to visit the Bahamas is between December and April, so it is a great winter sun destination. The rains are mainly in May and June.
Bahamas weather is tropical with temperatures of 75ºF to 82ºF, December to April.

The sailing conditions in the Bahamas are good, with easy navigation between islands and clear waters.

What are the national park fees in the Bahamas?
To enter national parks during your Bahamas yacht charter, you may have to pay a fee. For the Exuma Land and Sea Park, for example, you will be charged mooring fees depending on your yacht size.
Take care to observe the regulations for Bahamas national and marine parks, as many have strict environmental protection regulations, such as not taking shells, no fishing and specific motoring speeds. Please look at the official websites for guidance.

What is the Wi-Fi connection like in the Bahamas?
Most of the main islands in Abaco and the Exumas have public Wi-Fi hotspots. You can also connect in bars and restaurants while on your Bahamas sailing vacation, although speeds may vary. The more remote islands will not have a connection.
What is the best way to get to the Bahamas?
You can get to the Bahamas from the US by flying to Abaco’s Leonard M. Thompson International Airport (MHH) or Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) in Nassau for the Exumas.

Our Sail Share cabin cancellation fees are:
- More than 90 days before original embarkation date: 25% of the charter fee
- 89 – 60 days before original embarkation date: 50% of the charter fee
- 59 – 30 days before original embarkation date: 75% of the charter fee
- Fewer than 29 days before original embarkation date: 100% of the charter fee
How flexible is the itinerary for a Sail Share charter?
Our yacht itineraries are designed by our destination experts and are set to showcase the best of the destination’s highlights. They are set and not flexible, even if you book all the cabins.
What happens if the weather changes while sailing on a Sail Share charter?
The skipper may decide to change the itinerary if there is bad weather.
Can I choose which cabin I want when I book a Sail Share?
Choose a double cabin with shared bath, or private bath for an additional fee.
Are there child or age restrictions for Sail Share?
