Itinerary
From Athens, Greece - Mediterranean to Athens, Alimos marina, Athens area/Saronic/Peloponese - Greece

Your Athens Dream Catamaran is waiting for you from 16:00 hours in Alimos Marina. Alimos a South suburb of Athens, 30 km from the Athens airport. Welcome on board by your crew and installation in the cabins. Departure at 18:00 to Agia Marina on Aegina. Agia Marina is ideally located as the closest bay from Alimos to spend the night for an evening departure and start our sailing cruise on the 1st day! It’s also close to the Temple of Aphaia.

After breakfast on board, you can start enjoying your first swim or take advantages of watersports on board (paddle, kayak, snorkeling). Optional morning excursion: visit of the Temple of Aphaia by taxi (10’ drive). This temple, dating from the 5th of 6tth century BC, stands majestically on a high point offering a superb view of the surrounding sea. It’s considered as 1 of the 3 “sacred antic temples” with the Parthenon and the Cape Sounion temple. Entrance to the temple is not included (10 € / pax) After lunch we continue to Molos Beach in Hydra, a secluded bay where we will spend the night. Optional late afternoon excursion: free visit of Hydra main town, with transport by sea taxi (20’ by sea) Hydra, built in the shape of an Amphitheatre on a slope overlooking the Argosaronic gulf, is one of the most romantic destinations in Greece. Traditional stone mansions, narrow cobblestoned streets, secluded squares and above all the banning of cars and the use of around 500 donkeys as means of public transportation, explain the reason why Hydra preserved its distinctive atmosphere through the passage of time. The island experienced exceptional economic growth in the past thanks to its great naval and commercial activity. The Hydriots contributed significantly also to the 1821 War of Independence as their powerful fleet participated in crucial sea battles. 300 churches and 6 monasteries spread around the island as well as the cannons and the statues of the Independence War heroes still standing at the balconies of the islands create a romantic mosaic.

Breakfast on board, then a morning sail to Dokos island for swimming and on board watersports, before or just after lunch. Dokos is one of the most popular yachting destinations in the Saronic Gulf. It is an isolated and uninhabited, island found between the southern coast of Peloponnese and the islands of Hydra and Spetses. What makes Dokos so popular among yachters is the picturesque Skintos bay which offers clear waters and shelter from all winds. Dokos is ideal for those who love wild landscapes, peace, tranquility and stunning sunset views! Later we sail to Spetses island. Spetses, an island boasting a long naval tradition, is famous for its significant contribution to the 1821 War of Independence. It was here that the revolution flag was raised on 3rd April 1821. The island has managed to retain its individual traditional character thanks to its well-preserved grand captain mansions, still bearing eloquent witness to the island’s glorious past. The picturesque old harbor and Dápia, a tourist and commercial center where the heart of the island’s entertainment beats, are the trademarks of the town of Spetses. Take a romantic trip around the island in horse-drawn carriages and admire the grand mansions adorning the narrow-cobbled streets of the island.

After breakfast we sail to Ermione with a stop for swimming and lunch at Aghios Emilianos and in the afternoon we arrive at Ermione. Ermioni is a picturesque village of about 2600 people on the southeast shore of Argolida, with a characteristic island look. It’s next to the piney cape of Bisti, at the further end of the Argolic peninsula, facing the islands of Dokos and Hydra. Its inhabitants are mainly occupied in cultivating olives. Over the last decades the area has become a tourist attraction leading many locals into the tourist business. If you like hiking trails, you should definitely cross the small Katafyki Gorge that links Ermioni with Fournoi. It’s a half an hour walk that will surely entice you. The landscape is of unique beauty, consisting of rocks, caves, rich vegetation and the little church of Saint Nicholas, built in 1740, with ruins of medieval walls in its yard. The old historic bridge takes you to the nearby picturesque village of Fournoi via an enchanting landscape of pines and running waters.

After breakfast we sail to Poros Island with a stop at the bay of Soupia for swimming and lunch. As you enter the harbour of Poros, you’ll get a fine view of the town, built up the hillsides. The Archaeological Museum’s exhibits date back to the Mycenaean Period (1600 – 1100 BC) up to and including the Roman times. Among the displayed items you will see finds from ancient shipwrecks retrieved from the Gulf area. Enjoy an afternoon coffee on the seafront in this typical Greek & sailors surrounding, or follow a route through the narrow streets of the town that will lead you up to a hill, where the trademark of the island stands: the historic Clock tower, where you can relax and enjoy a panoramic view of the whole town.

Early morning sail to the Love Bay close to Poros harbour. Breakfast on board and first morning swim, before heading to to Epidaurus, cruising around Methana with a stop at Aghios Georgios for lunch. Ancient Epidaurus (or Palaia (old) Epidaurus as it is otherwise called) is a small but charming port of the Saronic Gulf, with a rich history that is lost in the depths of the centuries and generously provides the visitor with sea, natural beauty and archeological sites. Built on the same spot where the ancient city was located, it stretches to the innards of a narrow bay. The view is dazzling from the pine-covered mountain Akros. The locals call the small peninsula "Island", and not unjustly. There, visitors will meet, deep blue beaches for swimming or snorkeling, and good tourist infrastructure.

Breakfast on board. Visit the Small Ancient Theater, a few minutes walk away. For lunch, we’ll head to the picturesque and tiny Agistri island, in a beautiful bay known mostly by sailors. Enjoy this last opportunity for a snorkeling, paddle or kayak session. In the afternoon, we head back to Alimos marina in Athens, where you could decide to visit Athens old and lively center around Plaka after dinner.
