Six Things to Do During Your Bahamas Charter

Bahamas

Summer is always a time for fun and exciting travels, and the Bahamas is a great place to visit year round. With their amazing beaches, and rich culture; the islands are always ready to help create a great experience. To relieve you from the stress of your work schedule and busy lives, follow us into a daydream of visiting the Abaco Islands in the Bahamas. Below you can read about some of the amazing adventure we will embark on in our daydreams, that you have to power to make come true!

Tahiti Beach
This beach is the exact place you will be able to find yourself relaxing on your trip to the Bahamas. Travelers can only reach this beach by foot, bike or boat; meaning the crowds aren’t large. You can sit on the beach and soak up the sun, or go exploring in the waters perfect for snorkeling. Two deep holes, created by changing tides, in the ocean floor are located off the coast of Tahiti Beach. Deep in these holes, many sea creatures await high tide in hopes to feed in the sand flats. Some of the creatures that can be seen around these holes are; sharks, bonefish, and other small fish. It will be amazing the things you find and see. Relaxing in the sun or observing the sea creatures in their natural setting, Tahiti Beach is a great place to visit while in Abaco.

Hope Town
Known as the main attraction of Elbow Cay, the small village of Hope Town is often compared to the typical New England seaside. With the same vibe as the small towns of Cape Cod or Maine, the brightly colored cottages are a big sightseeing event. Golf Carts and Bicycles are available to explore the small Island of Elbow Cay, where Hope Town is located. Having cut off most routes for Motor Vehicles, the only way to see the entire island is by Golf Cart or Bicycle. There is much to see around the island, and the views are spectacular. Created in 1864 to direct ships away from “Elbow Reef”, the candy-striped lighthouse, might be the most recognizable landmark of Abaco. Explore the lighthouse in Hope Town and learn more about the small village itself. A must see on your visit to the Abaco Islands of the Bahamas.

The Abaco Inn
Looking for a great place to eat out while traveling around the Abacos? While exploring the island of Elbow Cay, stop by the local Abaco Inn for a bite to eat. The docks surrounding the inn, make it easily accessible by boat. Spend the evening trying some of the traditional cooking styles of the Caribbean, and the selection of local beer. From conch fritters to the local catch, your stomach will thank you for providing such a treat! Stop by the Abaco Inn to eat at anytime of day. Open for breakfast on the weekends, and daily for lunch and dinner. Don’t be afraid to try something new, you won’t regret it!

Pelican Land and Sea Park
Located on and between four small cays is a land a sea park that protects the environment that created it. The beautiful underwater caves and coral reefs that make up the park, were placed under preservation with a 99-year lease in 1972. The 2,100 acres is home to an extensive amount of plants and species, roughly 117. Pelican Land and Sea Park allows the environment to flourish in the way it needs to help the world and its inhabiter survive. Taking a trip to the park and exploring both the land and the sea, will allow you to see part of the environment you’ve never seen before. Ecotourism is a big part of the world today, spend the day learning more and exploring the world around you!

Nipper’s Beach Bar and Grill
Head to Nipper’s on a Sunday to partake in their famous Pig Roast Party. From 12:30 – 4 pm every Sunday the beach bar serves a buffet style of food including; Roast and BBQ Pork, Mac and Cheese, Corn, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, and more. With Bob Marley and Jimmy Buffet playing in the background, you’ll lose yourself in the Caribbean vibe sipping a cocktail on the beach. The is a great chance to meet some locals, and get to know the Abacos from the local perspective!
