Weather
Best period is between April to October (contrary to Phuket), few rain, clear sky.
Winds are from South-East, average of 15 Knots. However, winds are parallel to the coast, so cruises often require to sail close to the wind or on the quarter.
Sometimes in the evening, west squalls (20 to 40 knots), are sprinkling moorings located west sides of islands (protected from South-East winds), but it’s more rare these last years.

Tioman Sea Park Islands are located off south east coast of Malaysia.
Often classified among the ten most beautiful islands in the world.

Time looks like being stopped: no cars, only taxi boats. All the year long, temperature is constant, between 28° & 30° (sea at 28°).

Général
C’est un groupe d’îles situées au Sud-est de la malaisie. Environ 700 NM depuis Phuket, et à 120 NM de Singapour.
Il y a 14 îles ; les navigations moyennes sont d’environ 15 NM entre chacune d’entre elles. Les paysages sont très variés et les eaux cristallines pour les îles les plus éloignées. Tioman est très réputée pour la plongée et c’est une île ¨duty free¨.
Accès
1 vol par jour de Kuala Lumpur. Il faut environ une heure de vol.
1 vol par jour de Singapour. Il faut environ une demi heure de vol.
Le port de Mersing (sur la côte) est à 2H30 de voiture de Singapour. Il y a de nombreux ferries et speed boat qui desservent Tioman.
Tioman
L’accès est facile car l’aéroport est tout proche, à quelques centaines de mètres de la nouvelle marina, qui est dans le port principal de Tekek. Toute la côte Ouest de Tioman est une succession de très jolies plages de sable blanc et d’eaux limpides.
De très jolies balades dans les montagnes sont possibles (jungle, cascades..etc…).
Il y a également un golf, plusieurs hôtels dont le Berjaya, le plus connu, qui est à 500 m de la marina. Vous trouverez un grand nombre de restaurants sur toute la côte.
Pour les passionnés il est possible de plonger en bouteilles.
